The Hubbz and I took our second trip to my homeland this summer. We wanted and needed to have some serious chillaxin’ time and we also wanted to have a taste of the local life. I scoured the internet and obsessed over the best spots to stay. We wanted to stay in Panama’s old, second city known today as Casco Viejo.
I found us a short-term rental in Panama City at Casa Antigua. I can’t tell you how much we LOVED this place. It was right in the middle of the action and across the street from the Municipalidad-the house used by the President to receive all the big wigs when they come to town. We had a wonderful view of the new city and the Panama Bay, not to mention Ruben Blades also lives in the neighborhood.
We also wanted some island time, Contadora Island became the primary scene for our chillaxin’ time.
We spent a total of 5 nights in the city, 3 nights on the island. My Hubbz had a kick when I went into relaxation overload; I was like a junkie desperate for a fix. Contadora was beautiful, breathtaking even, but there was nothing.to.do except the beach. Note to self: next time, keep it at 2 nights.
We really had a glorious time, but like all vacations, it just wasn’t long enough. For me, being back home is always a special treat and The Hubbz has really embraced it. This trip to Contadora was a first for both of us, I had never been before leaving Panama; it was a real treat.
Here’s the link to the slideshow of our Our Panama vacation. Not too long, I promise. You can check out the still shots here.
Enjoy!
